The cultivation of vineyards was developed in Erythres from the ancient years where, like written in text documents, wine was produced since 2500 B.C.
The area of P.G.I. Kithairona’s is on the west side of Attica and includes the area of Erythres and Plataies. The altitudes were vineyards lay is up to 340 meters. The climate of the area is temperate with hot and moist summers to cold and snowy winters. Terrain of vineyard is of low concentration in organic material with medium alcalic pH and mostly clay porous. Best cultivations are accomplished on the edges of Kithairona’s mountain were vineyards are xeric and have low production per acre.
Varieties that are mostly cultivated are indigenous but also foreign, such as Savvatiano, Asyrtiko, Roditis, Malagousia, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Agiorgitiko, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah ecc.
The remarkable vineyards of our winery in 300 acres complete ideally the vineyard map of Erythres.
